Checklist for Carboot Stalls

Not all of this is mandatory.
Use this master list to help you build your own bootsale checklist.


Here’s a master list of all kinds of things that you may want to bring with you to the Carboot sale


Pick and choose from this list to start your own personal carboot sale checklist, adding and deleting items as you discover what you do and don’t need. Keep an updated copy of your list in a computer file, and print it out each time you get ready for a carboot, so you can check things off as you go.

Paperwork
Emergency Phone Numbers
Public Liability Insurance Certificate (Copy of) [IF REQUIRED]
Map of area if your firt time there

Stationery
Notebook / Notepad
Several pens (some may dissapear) - always keep one in the car
Large Marker Pens - for writing prices

Marketing Tools - If trader selling new goods
Business Cards
Coupons for money off next purchase (10%, 20% etc)

Furniture
Couple of Folding Chairs
Folding Trestle / Sturdy Pasting Table
Folding Clothes rack (if selling clothes)

Cash Box or Money Belt
Cash box, Money belt to hold notes / coins
Selection of small coins approx £25 of 5p's, 20p's, 50p's and £20 of £1
Selection of small notes £5, £10
Counterfeit note detector (always use on £10 or above)

Packaging
If selling bulky items, make sure you have carrier bags available
Eco-friendly paper bags (if required)

Layout of Table / Stall / Displays
Small labels to price your goods (priced and labelled day before)
Bunting / Flags / Banners to showoff your table and attract attention
White or Black Table cloth and drawing pins to secure to table

Food and Drinks
Small non-messy finger food to keep you going for the morning
1 Litre of water per person (allow 2 litres on hot days)
Breath Mints or Gum

Weatherproofing
Tarpaulin for table if it rains
Spare wet weather clothes in car for sudden rain downpours
4 Bungees for Tarpaulin to tie it down on table if windy while raining
